We hired HDVS to replace our old paved driveway and walkway with interlocking pavers. Hans and his team were here every morning on time, worked well together, were pleasant and very hard working. The front yard was left very tidy with new top soil and grass seed.
We are more than happy with the results. Hans attention to detail makes all the difference between a good job and an excellent one.

We first met Hans in March 2018 when he came to assess our landscaping projects. After talking for a few minutes we could tell this guy knew his work and that he was also very personable. It was a large undertaking which included 10,000 square feet of cobble stone for the driveway and 5,000 square feet of patio stone but this did not seem to be an issue for Hans. We gave him the contract because his price was fair and he came highly recommended. He started in August 2018 and worked every day, weather permitting. His crew is very polite and hard working men. Hans is a professional with extreme work ethics to get the jog done as best as he can. The bottom line is the job was not good, it was EXCELLENT !! – it’s all in the details. Hats off to hans and his crew for another successful project on my property.last year,2016,my asphalt driveway was replaced with beautiful stonework as well as 2 raised beds a retaining wall and flagstone pathway.This year an extension of the pathway and another large raised bed topped off with a pergola(a first for Hans.) As usual his work ethic and precision for detail are outstanding. I would recommend Hans to anyone with an outdoor project in mind. Money well spent!

HDVS completed a project for us a few weeks ago. The transformation it made in our driveway and yard is unbelievable. Trees and shrubs perfectly placed flank our laneway turning it from blah to stunning. The back yard is an oasis. We have greenery, retaining walls, bigger sundeck, fire pit, flowing ponds and exquisite stone work to meander around. when I saw the drawings I was anxious to see the finished project. I was definitely not disappointed. It’s absolutely beautiful. Hans and his crew were professional all the way. This is a company that can make your dream paradise come true. Thanks guys 👍

We are so pleased with HDVS’ work on our fire pit, patio, fence and deck extension. Hans is a true artist and came up with an incredible design. Hans and his team are efficient and professional. Hans would often check in with us to make sure we were happy with the progress of our project. He would come to us with new and creative ideas and would be open to changes as the project came along. Hans has a lot of pride in his work. He is easy to talk to and very responsive. He took care of all the extra details like adding grass seed and cleaning up after the job. After they were done, the yard and shed were even cleaner than before they started! We highly recommend HDVS and we cannot wait to work with them on future projects!

After seeing all the stonework projects in Espanola and area completed by Hans and his team,I decided to contact him to redesign the front of my home.He designed a landscape plan that was exactly what I had envisioned for my property. We couldn’t be more pleased with the project that Hans and his crew completed for us. We worked with Jennifer Harvey, a landscape architect to develop an environmentally friendly plan for out outdoor space to minimize lawn and maximize indigenous trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials. We were extremely happy with the comprehensive plan she presented to us. Hans worked closely with Jen to bring her vision and plan into reality. It was a complicated job involving our driveway, patios, walkways, stone walls and planting – lots of planting. Hans ensured every step of the project was done with such care and attention to every detail; no shortcuts were considered. Hans and his crew are professional, courteous and hardworking. I have never experienced a group with such a strong work ethic and who are so pleasant to work with. It has only been a month since the project was completed and already our property feels like an oasis; the plants are taking root and thriving. We are so excited to watch it change with the seasons and mature over the next couple of years. Hans, Jason, Rob and Pascal, we can’t thank you enough! We have recently had this crew over to the house to have our backyard done. We have been more then happy with the results. Hans and his team did a splendid job and kept us informed of every step. The workmanship is matched by the talent. I know is should always be like this but here is a contractor who returns calls in a timely fashion and shows up a the job site when promised. We would not hesitate to recommend the work done with this team.

We are extremely pleased with the excellent work performed by Hans, Jason and the rest of his team in laying down the lock stone in our back yard. Because of the existing clay soil, Hans took the necessary steps to ensure that a proper base was prepared to prevent future heaving. His professionalism, experience, dedication, enthusiasm and pride in his work was evident in his day to day work. He and his team were punctual, productive and very hard working. His artistic and functional ideas produced a final lock stone design that blended well with our existing deck and natural garden environment. After thirty-five years in our house we decided that our sidewalk and shrubbery desperately needed to be renewed. We had already had a design prepared and, based on his reputation, hired HDVS to do the work. It was a pleasure to watch the new front yard take shape. Hans is very particular in his work to make sure it is done correctly and with precision. The careful preparation before the stonework is laid will ensure that the walkways will stay straight and level for many years. Hans, Jim, and Jason were always pleasant and ready to answer questions, and were considerate that we were living there and left the site as tidy as possible at the end of each day. Hans sticks to each job until it is complete, so the duration of the project is as short as it can be, and having him always on site ensures that any questions can be dealt with right away. His formal education and years of experience in his field combined with enthusiasm and integrity make it a pleasure to do business with him.

We found Hans and his crew to be very efficient, hard working and always pleasant. Their work was that of professionals with every effort to be perfect. Our new front yard has exceeded our expectations. As we saw what Hans and his team could do, new possibilities that we had not considered, and Hans adding his own ideas, made it better at every step. What started as a sod and driveway replacement became a driveway with a curving front entrance, a new oval flower bed with decorative stone, a true flower bed below our front window, and a new tree where one had been missing for many years. Reusing some of the old driveway paving stones, Hans also created a tidy fenced storage area behind our backyard work shop. Hans came in under his initial estimates for budget and for time. Hans and his crew completed an amazing landscaping project for us in the Fall of 2010 and Spring of 2011. He suggested unique designs and has a wonderful eye for detail. Usually any big renovation job involves a great deal of planning along with stress and anxiety. In our particular project, however, Hans quickly alleviated these fears by expressing a keen professional interest in our plan and suggesting various ways of enhancing the aesthetic layout of the project. Once the job started his assistants Jason, Jim and Kim worked very efficiently as a team to complete the project on schedule. The required materials and machinery always arrived on time, as scheduled, with no delays experienced. The men all shared Hans’s sense of humour, enthusiasm and his professional care for detail. The guys started each day with a smile and approached each new challenge with an air of confidence. It was an exciting experience to observe the speedy progress of the project with a team of men who worked steadily with minimum breaks to deliver a beautiful interlock driveway, walkway and steps.

I was Extremely pleased with the design and absolutely expert workmanship from Hans and his company HDVS Landscaping. I left most of the design work to Hans’ imagination and talent and it is as if he read my mind what I had envisioned for my property. There were no surprises and he put a full days work in until the job was completed. This is a rare individual who is very proud of his work and very conscience of his company’s reputation. We contacted Hans to work on the front of our house. I was fed up with my landing as it was so small, and could only have 1 person stand on it at a time. I asked Hans to draw me a plan with what I had in mind, and he came through with flying colors. My landing is so big, I can fit 3-4 people, and he fixed by flower beds on each side of the steps which are very easy to go up and down. He also put stone around my 2 trees in he front yard. I have had people stop and stare at the front yard and has many compliments and want the same thing. I tell them to call Hans. He will beautify your front yard for you. We are very happy, and I’m glad I called him. See my pictures

Hans and his assistant Jason did a brilliant job remodelling the front entrance way to the office of Great Minds Tutor & Life Coach in Chelmsford, ON. His passion for designing, creative ability and willingness to change a design in the middle of construction was inspiring. It’s all about pleasing the customer as well creating something pleasing to theeye. A challenge to him is only an opportunity to create something individual and unique. Hans and Crew, Jason & Andre; A special “Thank You” doesn’t seem enough for what you have accomplished at out place in our neck of the woods. It is beyond our expectation! Every other day coming from our camp I would stop by to see the wonderful progress happening at our house. It actually brought tears to my eyes. It took me awhile to convince my husband to get a landscaper. He always did the work around our house and I knew that he was far too busy to tackle such a project. IT WAS MONEY WELL SPENT. My husband asked, after seeing the beautiful end result of Hans work, to add new stairs to the front of the house. Although the project was nearly completed, Hans agreed and tackled the job professionally and in 2 days the new stairs were in and everyone was happy. My Priority for getting this done was to have a maintenance free yard so I would enjoy our camp without worrying about the weeds growing at our house. All through the work, Hans kept reminding me of that. And the outcome of his work proved it. I like it, like it. I was lucky to get your business card at John’s Flowers in Webbwood. After browsing the website, I liked what I saw and called Hans for an estimate and the rest is history. We had Hans and his crew construct our driveway and back patio. We are extremely pleased with the stunning results. He takes pride in his workmanship and is matriculate in seeing that the end product is up to his high standards.
